Programme:

United finished runners-up in the tournament for the second consecutive season as they once more went down to Tottenham Hotspur in the final. By a queer coincidence the same two players scored the Spurs goals as they again won 2-0. However, in this game it had been 0-0 at Full-Time and it wasn't until the sixth minute of extra-time that Peter Beadle gave Spurs the leadand another seven minutes had elapsed before John Hendrey put the game out of United's grasp. United had made two substitutions, on the hour, as Paul Shepherd replaced Mark Jackson at Centre Half and Alan O'Shea replaced Andy Brown at Centre Forward. The game was played at the Ryedale Stadium, York.
